Prem grade 5 kids jumped to their first task of setting up tents for a night out under the stars. We then set off to discover about changing materials and sustainable technology at the Boonsom Spirulina Farm. Students contemplated if protein from Spirulina algae can be an effective way to produce food and nutrients for our growing global population. We observed how they grow, harvest and processed the algae into powders, tablets and capsules. After tasting the fresh algae we all agreed that when we put the fresh algae mixed with eggs, milk and flour it tasted more delicious as waffles!
Grade 5's cooked their own dinner at the cooking academy then roasted marshmallows and sang songs around a campfire to finish up day one. The next day saw us developing our teambuilding skills and having a pool party, what a way to finish the camp and the school term.
