Two farmers from Traidhos Three-Generation Farm, Khun Moo and Khun Alongkorn recently attended a three day training course organised by The Royal Project For Learning and Development, to build capacity for mushroom farming.
Our farm mushroom house, constructed several years ago by a visiting school group, has experimented with several types of mushroom over the years but we now want to develop phoenix mushrooms. These are perfect for using in jungle cooking classes and will also be in demand form the Traidhos Cooking Academy.
During the training, staff were introduced to the mixed medium and sawdust used to grow the mushrooms, the importance of using sterilised materials and the factors that can inhibit the growth of mushrooms. We look forward to seeing the mushroom house full of sprouting mushrooms soon and perhaps some new products appearing at community market.
